Kotof Al Khair Association is seeking to recruit a Psychosocial Support Specialist and Facilitator to work within the Learning and Psychosocial Recovery Units for Children Project in Al-Zawaida/Central Gaza, in partnership with the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC), supporting children affected by war and displacement.
Kotof Al Khair Health and Community Association is recruiting a Psychosocial Support Specialist and Facilitator to join the Learning and Psychosocial Recovery Units for Children Affected by War Project, implemented in partnership with the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC).
The project forms part of the humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip and aims to establish safe learning spaces for children aged 6–12 years, combining active learning with psychosocial support to enhance their well-being and resilience.
Purpose of the Position:
To facilitate psychosocial support sessions and interactive activities that help children cope with the effects of war and displacement, promote emotional well-being, and create a safe, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate psychosocial support sessions and interactive activities for children.
- Provide emotional support and strengthen children's coping and resilience skills.
- Monitor children's progress and document activities.
- Coordinate with the project team to integrate educational and psychosocial interventions.
- Refer cases requiring specialized support in accordance with child protection procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health, or a related field.
- Previous experience in providing psychosocial support to children, preferably in humanitarian or emergency settings.
- Good knowledge of psychosocial support approaches and techniques.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to child protection principles and safeguarding standards.
Contract Duration: 4 months.
Working Hours: 6 hours per day, 6 days per week.
Duty Station: Al-Zawaida, Central Gaza.
